Year-to-Date Export Growth Ranks Second Among the Provinces

Statistics Canada's latest report shows that Saskatchewan's merchandise exports increased 15.1 per cent in the first nine months of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025.

"Merchandise exports help ensure food and energy security to over 160 countries worldwide," Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding said. "With strong exports comes even stronger communities and an economy that ensures we have the ability to provide the crucial programs and services the people of Saskatchewan rely on."

The province's year-to-date international merchandise exports totaled $36.7 billion for January to September.

Merchandise exports: Saskatchewan ranks 2nd in growth among the provinces, up 15.1 per cent from January to September 2025 to that same period in 2026. A man in PPE inspects a grain delivery.

Statistics Canada's latest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) numbers indicate that Saskatchewan's 2025 real GDP reached an all-time high of $85.4 billion. This was an increase of 2.2 per cent, putting the province well above the national average of 1.7 per cent.

Private capital investment in Saskatchewan increased last year by 12 per cent to $13.6 billion, ranking first among provinces. Efforts behind the province's Securing the Next Decade of Growth: Saskatchewan's Investment Attraction Strategy are driving that momentum.
